NYLON6
While Nylon6 has a long history being utilised as an engineering plastic, the material also exhibits excellent strength for weight and has a natural ability to repel static. Also known as polycaprolactam, Nylon6 is renowned for its toughness and its high tensile strength.
Nylon11
Made from castor oil, this organic-based material is available in a range of specialist configurations and is commonly used in high-performance applications, such as automotive fuel lines, pneumatic tubes, electric cable sheathing to ward off termites, flexible pipes for the transportation of oil and gas, and other components for electric devices. Nylon11 is an excellent material for use in extreme temperature conditions. It works well in the range of -40degC and up to 120degC. Nylon11 can also be a suitable alternative to Teflon tubing in an elevated temperature environment.
Flexible Tubing
Available in a range of sizes, and known for its excellent impact resistance and safety factor of 4:1, flexible nylon tubing is an excellent choice for many applications. Nylon11 is available in sizes 1/8″ O.D. to 1″ O.D. and 4mm O.D. to 16mm O.D. It conforms to the Australian Standard for pneumatic lines, has a minimum burst pressure of 1000psi/8MPa, and has a working pressure of 250psi/2MPa with a 4:1 safety factor.
Semi-Rigid Tubing
Nylon11 semi-rigid is a fairly rigid nylon piping that is ideal for permanent installations and also has some approvals for food contact applications. It is manufactured to Australian Standards for pneumatic and light hydraulic applications and does not contain plasticiser. With a minimum burst pressure of 2500psi/17MPa and working pressure of 625psi/4MPa, it has a safety factor of 4:1.
Graphite Impregnated Tubing
Graphite impregnated tubing is a semi-rigid nylon piping material that contains graphite to allow for self-lubricating properties. Nylon11 semi-rigid is generally used as an engineering plastic and comes custom sized to meet your specific nylon tubing application requirements.
Nylon12
Compounded from mineral oil (petrochemical), Nylon12 is ideal for the conveyance of liquids, gases and air, making it the most popular choice for industrial use. Such uses include the production of coverings for electrical cables, as well as the preparation of gasoline and oil resistant tubes commonly used in the automotive industry. In addition to being abrasion and impact resistant, it is heat and light stabilised and can be used in outside applications, and has good pressure ratings. Its operating temperature is between 20degC and 80degC. This nylon tubing meets the same extensive chemical resistance capabilities as Nylon11.
Flexible Tubing
Brotec Nylon12 is an industry-standard material for pneumatic tubing and automotive applications because it is strong, lightweight, flexible, and chemical resistant. Available in sizes 1/8″ O.D. to 1″ O.D. and 4mm O.D. to 16mm O.D., this material is made to Australian Standards with a minimum burst pressure of 1000psi/7MPa and a working pressure of 250psi/2MPa for a 4:1 safety factor. When used for fluid transfer a 3:1 safety factor can be applied.
Semi-Rigid Tubing
Brotec semi-rigid nylon piping is a diverse and resistant material manufactured for high-pressure pneumatics, light hydraulic applications, and grease lines. It is capable of handling high pressure up to 2500psi/17MPa minimum burst and has a working pressure of 625psi/4.3MPa with a 4:1 safety factor.
Self-Store Hose
Brotec self-store hose is made from flexible Nylon12 and is helically thermal formed for use with hand-held air tools and on moving machinery on process lines. This hose is retractable for use in tight working areas. It has a burst pressure of 700psi/4.8MPa and a working pressure of 125psi/.8MPa with a 4:1 safety factor. The self-store hose is manufactured in yellow for safety purposes.
